| Abstract | Áreas ocupadas por florestas têm sido convertidas em agricultura, pastagem ou áreas urbanas em todo o país, o que pode resultar em alterações do ciclo hidrológico de ecossistemas. Para alguns locais há restrições de uso da terra, como é o caso das Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APP), onde a conversão da floresta para outros fins não é permitido. O Código Florestal Brasileiro, juntamente com as resoluções 302 e 303 do CONAMA, delimitam essas áreas, as quais foram criadas para tentar frear o desmatamento. Entretanto, a delimitação das APPs é uma tarefa complexa, pois vários fatores devem ser considerados tais como a rede de drenagem e a topografia, informações essas nem sempre disponíveis. Imagens de satélite, juntamente com um Sistema de Informações Geográficas, possibilitam a geração de mapas, delimitação de áreas e integração de dados, ferramentas importantes para esse tipo de estudo. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi mapear os corpos dágua no estado de São Paulo e delimitar as APPs situadas ao longo dos rios, ao redor de lagos, lagoas e reservatórios e nas encostas com declividades superiores a 45°. Foi feito também o mapa de uso e cobertura da terra para verificar se o uso estava de acordo com a legislação florestal. As APPs foram sobrepostas a este mapa e foram quantificados os conflitos de uso no estado. ABSTRACT: Areas occupied by forests have been converted into agriculture, pasture or urban areas throughout the country, which may result in changes of the ecosystems hydrological cycle. For some locations there are land use restrictions, which the Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA), where the conversion of forest to other purposes is not permitted. The Brazilian forestry code (resolutions 302 and 303 of the National Council of Environment-CONAMA), demarcating these areas, which have been created trying to reduce the deforestation. However, the delimitation of PPAs is a complex task, because several factors must be considered such as drainage network and the topography, not always available. Satellite images, together with a geographical information system, enable the generation of maps, delimitation of areas and data integration, important tools for this type of study. The goal of this work was to map the bodies of water in the State of São Paulo and to delimit the PPAs along of the rivers, around of the lakes, ponds and reservoirs and on the slopes upper than 45°. Also was made the land use and land cover map to see if the use was in accordance with the forestry legislation. The PPAs were overlapping on this map and quantified the conflicts of use in the State. |
