This is accomplished by using two cavities electromagnetically coupled by an annular slit crossed by an electron stream. A two-cavity monotron is developed to operate in the TM020 mode at 6.6 GHz when self-excited by a 20 keV, 50 A hollow electron beam. The device operation is examined through a 2 1/2-D particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation giving a 33.0% conversion efficiency. %T Coupled-Cavity Monotron %@isbn 978-1-4244-8662-5 %@isbn 978-1-4244-8660-1 %@electronicmailaddress barroso@plasma.inpe.br %@format Papel %@tertiarytype Paper %@secondarytype PRE CI %K electric fields , electromagnetic coupling , electron beams , microwave generation , microwave tubes , annular electron beam , coupled cavities , microwave generation , monotron , transit-time tubes. %8 21-24 Feb. %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup lattes %@usergroup secretaria.cpa@dir.inpe.br %@group LAP-CTE-INPE-MCT-BR %@e-mailaddress barroso@plasma.inpe.br %F lattes: 5240243263075069 1 Barroso:2011:CoMo %U http://www.ieee.org %2 dpi.inpe.br/plutao/2011/09.22.20.17.23 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %I IEEE Publishing %P 277-278 %4 dpi.inpe.br/plutao/2011/09.22.20.17.22 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2011 %V 1 %@doi 10.1109/IVEC.2011.5746983 %S Proceedings %A Barroso, Joaquim José, %C Bangalore %@dissemination IEEEXplore %@area FISPLASMA
