Within this project, several different propulsive systems are under study, and among those the dual-stage gridded ion engine. In this article, starting from the different thruster configurations highlighted in the HiPER project, the discharge and neutralizer hollow cathode requirements will be derived. Subsequently, the design for a discharge hollow cathode able to satisfy the most current demanding case will be presented. %@versiontype publisher %@electronicmailaddress %@electronicmailaddress intini@lcp.inpe.br %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %@area COMB %@e-mailaddress intini@lcp.inpe.br %K hollow cathode, gridded ion engine, GIE, dual stage ion engine, DS4G. %@documentstage not transferred %@doi 10.1177/0954410011409131 %@group %@group LCP-CTE-INPE-MCTI-GOV-BR %@issn 0954-4100 %@issn 2041-3025 %N 3 %O Setores de Atividade: Pesquisa e desenvolvimento científico. %@dissemination PORTALCAPES %P 272-280 %A Coletti, M., %A Marques, Rodrigo Intini, %A Gabriel, Stephen B., %@secondarytype PRE PI %2 dpi.inpe.br/plutao/2012/11.28.17.33.01 %B Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering
